GLENDORA - Three women in a car are dead after a fiery Glendora freeway crash with a big-rig.
The California Highway Patrol shut down southbound State Route 57 lanes and the east and west Interstate 210 connectors in the Glendora area shortly after the 2:47 a.m. crash.The connector lanes and two southbound travel lanes reopened before 7 a.m.
The crash investigation and cleanup led to a morning commuter rush mess in the north San Gabriel Valley northeast east of Los Angeles.
CHP Officer Krystal Carter tells KNX radio that the big-rig and car tangled and the car with three women inside burst into flames. The cause of the crash hasn't been determined.
