Chelsea Kane denies speculation that she was caught snorting cocaine in a leaked video.

As speculation as to whether Chelsea Kane and her "Dancing with the Stars" partner Mark Ballas are more than just friends continues to run rampant, the young star is tackling another ? and far more explosive ? rumor.

According to the "Jonas L.A." star, she is not the one pictured in a recently circulated video of two young women snorting cocaine, despite various sites reporting Kane, also known as Chelsea Staub, is the one doing drugs alongside fellow Disney starlet Demi Lovato.

In a recent radio interview, Kane denied she is the blond featured in the short clip. The actress, however, doesn't exonerate Lovato, instead dismissing allegations that the brunette is her "Jonas" co-star, Nicole Anderson.

"It's just such a bummer because our faces are pixilated and it's just so obvious that someone's trying to start some controversy," Kane said on "Mojo in the Morning."

"This is my first time dealing with people starting stuff and the hard part is it'd be different if I got caught doing something really bad and it was like, 'Oh, man, like how do I deal with this?' " the 22-year-old continued, "but it's frustrating when you have to defend yourself against something that didn't happen and that wasn't you."

The hosts pressed Kane on whether she will file a lawsuit, pointing out that accusations of illegal drug use are a serious matter, but she demurred.

"It's never fun getting that phone call from your mom saying like, 'Oh my god, please tell me this isn't true,' " Kane said, admitting it's been especially troublesome since she was "going into a show like ['DWTS'] and coming from such a wholesome network."

But, fortunately, she hasn't faced any professional repercussions.

"It actually hasn't been a massive deal on the show ? I made all the phone calls immediately saying like, 'Have you seen this, what do we do?'" Kane said. "And everyone who knows me was like, 'Well we know that wasn't you, so we just have to take the next step to get that video off the Internet and kill those rumors before they really blow up."

The video has been pulled from YouTube, but still exists on sites like Twitvid.com.
