Film producer Laura Ziskin, one of the most well-known women behind the scenes in Hollywood, has died at 61.
Ziskin, who helped turn Pretty Woman heroine Julia Roberts into a star and brought Spider-Man to the big screen, lost a seven-year battle with breast cancer. She died Sunday at her home in Los Angeles.
In 2008, she founded a nonprofit that has raised more than $200 million to fight cancer. During her career, Ziskin oversaw a wide range of movies including 1987's No Way Out, 1990's Pretty Woman and 1997's As Good As It Gets, in addition to the Spider-Man movies.
