In the latest round of one of the most intriguing feuds in the realms of celebrity it?s been decreed that a private arbitrator will now rule on Charlie Sheen?s lawsuit over ?Two and a Half Men.?
Charlie was summarily fired by Warners and ?Two?s creator, Chuck Lorre in March after a bizarre string of events which included unsubtle references to Lorre?s ethnic past.
Charlie promptly sued the production house for $100-million, claiming they?d broken his contract. He demanded a public trial, but Warners and Lorre insisted the grievance should be settled in arbitration. And it now looks like they?ll get their way.
Having heard both sides offer their case LA County Superior Court Judge Allan Goodman ruled that as Charlie?s contract includes an arbitration clause he must abide by it. An Arbitrator will now be chosen and they alone will decide if the case even reaches a jury.
As you might guess, the bosses are pretty happy about this;
?We?re very gratified by the court?s ruling enforcing the parties? arbitration agreement,? Warner Bros. Television told CNN.
But Sheen?s lawyer, Marty Singer says the case could still reach a public trial.
