Kirstie Alley: I used to have 'two hours of sex a day'

Kirstie Alley made some frank comments about sex and love lives on 'The Ellen DeGeneres Show.'

After a self-described "rough patch" due to a devastating breakup, Kirstie Alley had a "big revelation."

Except she couldn't share all of it on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" Thursday, because the talk show host became sidetracked by Alley's frank talk about her sex life.

"In the best of times you have two hours of sex a day," Alley said, "so you have 22 hours left to ?"

A stunned DeGeneres interrupted and asked whether Alley really has sex for two hours each day.� The "Dancing With the Stars" competitor seemed equally shocked that the idea was so surprising.

"How many hours do you guys have?" she asked the audience, adding, "There's a prelude, there's the sex, there's the winding down," which can add up.

Alley took to Twitter after the show aired to say that she was actually trying to explain how much more there is to relationships than sex.

"My POINT on Ellen was: even IF u had sex 2 hours a day, it still Left u with 22 hours to b with him," she wrote. "So HIM better B amazing!!"

Alley had said on the show that she used to be preoccupied with looks, leading her to occasionally not make the best choices when it came to men.

"The way I used to pick guys was just so shallow," she told DeGeneres, "?Hot! Okay! That'll be my husband.'"

But when Alley found herself heartbroken "by a psycho," she ended up embarking on "the best 10 years of my life."

"The good news is after that I became a more amazing mother," she said.

And her love life wasn't entirely empty. Though she said she hadn't "had a boyfriend for the last 10 years," she clarified that she didn't have a "serious" boyfriend.

"Just wanted to say after many saw Ellen today: I love men," she tweeted. "I've had amazing men in my life."

"Only one rotten apple so I'm a lucky girl," she added with a winking emoticon.
